The Popular Genres of Music in the 1920's included Jazz,Swing Jazz and Ragtime. However even though there were many more less popular forms of music like broadway musicals and showtunes, the 20's were known for jazz and because of this it was given the name "The Jazz Age".

Jazz Music of all ages including the 1920's influenced how society viewed the youth of the nation. The 20's jazz music made the classic reckless teenager and the spitting image of modern teenagers was created. Girls cut their hair short and danced with boys who were probably considerd less desirable by their fathers, music became an escape for teenagers in the 20's and this trend continues today with the youth of the nation, the 1920's made music more than music it became a hobby to listen to it and the new idea of "Big Bands" started to gain followings.

dHHHow the Music changed Life Today

The music that was produced in the 1920's created a common culture among people and essentially created pop music. Because of this many of the stylistic aspects that composers of the 1920's incorporated into their songs can be found in songs by popular modern artists. The loud booming bass beat of "Big Bands" can still be seen and heard in modern songs, except we refer to it as bass but in the 20's without the technology they had to rely on drums, the music in the 1920's greatly influenced modern jazz so much that much of the modern jazz can be easily mistaken as older jazz , they are essentially the same type of music and have very similar stylistic aspects.
