Broadway

Besides the Jazz and Popular Ragtime tunes some people preferred more "civilized" music because jazz was said to be the devils music. During the 1920's 50 new Broadway hits were performed and ticket prices soared to almost four dollars which made it impossible for lower class working people to get in, however the musical industry boomed with new comedy's and dramas.

Broadway lit up New York at night like nothing else had before.

Broadway plays became a staple of pop culture and still remain very relevant even today.

The plays and musicals were so successful that even after the economy crashed and recession set in during the 30's it stood strong and reeled in big audiences.

   Popular plays of Broadway included

     - Sally

     - Broadway Nite Lites
